Bendigo Bank Colts Team Announced

Posted on: Tuesday, 19 June 2012 at 12:47

Head Coach Dave Fiorenza last night released the final 25 players to represent the League at this weekend's (June 23-24) CBH Northern Colts Carnival in Wongan Hills. Fiorenza and his team of selectors have pushed a talented squad through three training sessions over recent weeks before making their final decisions at Rover Football Club last night.

The team will be put through their final training session this Thursday from 5.30pm at the Recreation Ground before leaving for the Carnival at 12.30pm on Friday. The GNFL will come up against what appears to be their strongest opposition first up on Saturday, facing Avon at 10.35am before afternoon matches against Mortlock and Central Midlands Coastal. Sunday will see the side complete the round robin stage of the competition against North Midlands.

The 3rd / 4th playoff will take place at 12:45pm Sunday followed by the Grand Final where teams will compete for the McClements Shield won by the GNFL side in 2011, that match commences at 1:50pm with presentations and All-Star announcements at 3pm. The GNFL squad will have the extra incentive of earning a trip to compete in the Country Week Colts competition should they be selected in the Northern Suns (All Stars ) and not be selected in the senior GNFL country week side.
