Posted on: Tuesday, 4 June 2013 at 16:14

The West Australian Country Football League today confirmed fixtures and format information ahead of the upcoming Landmark Country Championships to be held in Perth & Mandurah from July 11-13.

The GNFL will be coached by Dave Fiorenza who will this weekend announce the training squad ahead of the teams first practice session (along with the GNFL Colts) which is scheduled for 5.30pm Thursday 13th of June at Greenough Oval.

GNFL Division 1 Fixtures

  • Thursday 1pm – GNFL v UGSFL – East Fremantle Oval
  • Thursday 4pm – GNFL v LSWFL – East Fremantle Oval
  • Friday 1pm – GNFL v SWFL – Steel Blue Oval
  • Friday 3pm – GNFL v MFL – Steel Blue Oval
  • Saturday 2:30pm – Division 1 Final – Medibank Stadium

In addition many of our talented youngsters will also have the chance to represent the Northern Suns in the Country Week Colts competition. The GNFL will take a 25-man side to the upcoming Northern Colts Carnival to be held in Wongan Hills on June 22 & 23. At this carnival an all-starts team will be picked, which will then form the Northern Suns Country Week Colts team. Last year several GNFL players who missed selection in the GNFL Country Week side were given the opportunity to play representative football at the Carnival, showcasing their skills and talent to AFL and WAFL Club Development staff along the way.

Northern Suns Colts Fixtures (Mandurah)

  • Thursday 3pm – NS v GSFL – Bendigo Bank Stadium

 Teams Lists

  • Teams will be asked to submit their list of 30 players for publication in football budget on Monday 8 July.

The WACFL hope these modifications add to the excitement and interest for 2013 and we will be keen to hear any feedback you may have on how you think it went post Championships.
